I want to borrow a book for the whole semester. Can I do that?

Answer

It depends on the book.  It is possible to extend the due date for SAU library books that are in our General Collection for an entire semester.  However, if another library user places a "hold" on that book, the due date cannot be extended.

MeLCat items, Interlibrary Loan items, Course Reserve books, DVDs, and other material are loaned for limited periods of time and, in general, cannot be borrowed for an entire semester.

SAU students, faculty & staff can extend the due date for items they have borrowed by contacting the library.  Most SAU books, CDs and DVDs can be renewed twice; MeLCat and Interlibrary Loan books can usually be renewed once.  Not all library items are renewable and renewal limits may apply.
